POSEIDON MED II

POSEIDON MED II is a European project to design the legislative framework and market conditions for the use of LNG as a marine fuel in the Eastern Mediterranean. Through the design of targeted and sustainable infrastructure, the programme contributes to the development of the supply chain as well as the appropriate network, enabling demand response in response to international requirements for more sustainable shipping.
POSEIDON MEDII, which is a continuation of the “COSTAII-East (Poseidon-Med)” and “Archipelago-LNG” programmes, is co-funded by the Connecting Europe Facility and will run for 5 years. It is a cross-border project involving 26 partners from three Member States (Greece, Italy, Cyprus). The ultimate objective of the project is to make LNG available in six main ports (Piraeus, Patras, Heraklion, Igoumenitsa, Limassol, Venice).
