The aim of the project<\/strong><\/p>\n

This project will develop a web portal based on a single platform that integrates geographic and transport information from mobile and fixed data sources into a smart port and its region. The information will come from port and regional infrastructure and from instruments installed on passenger and freight vehicles using the port. <\/p>\n

For port managers. the new web portal will provide intelligent information, support stronger safety and security and lead to higher efficiency and effectiveness of real-time port services. <\/p>\n

For fleet managers, the portal will provide improved information and guidance and will support the reduction of transit time and costs of goods, improve transport conditions and increase cargo safety and security.<\/p>\n

For urban road users, the gateway will lead to reduced congestion, reduced air pollution and improved access to transport services.<\/p>\n

The above objectives will be achieved through intelligent port planning and guidance, fleet management and guidance, and traffic information and guidance for passengers based on position recognition from cameras, vehicle tracking, intelligent detectors, and satellite communications.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

  2. Information on safety and security to port authorities.<\/li>\n
  3. Highly accurate information for the authorities on the movements of vehicles in the port and its surrounding area.<\/li>\n
